Cows

There were cows everywhere in the area around Gryon. I probably saw 1000+ cows on my hike today. They graze up in the ski resort area during the summer. I belive they are all milk cows because they have bells around their necks. When you are hiking, there is a constant drone of bells ringing. It is pretty funny. I was told that the size of the bell around the cow's neck is proportional to how good of a milk producer the cow is. Some cows have big bells, while others have small bells. I'm not sure if this system is designed to make other cows feel inadequate, or shame them into producing more milk.
